It's almost June

So today is the last day of May. That means that we only have June, July, and August left for the summer. Not that I'm counting down or anything, I have just been super stressed. It hasn't been turning out like I thought. I mean, I knew it would suck at times because I have done this summer thing before, but what I didn't realize is that as a tech you have to be on call basically 24 hours a day 6 days a week. We can't really go anywhere because you have to pick up equipment at noon, and then you could get called to a job or a service any time during the 24 hours of the day. I completely wish that I could go back and tech for my brother doing pest control. At least they get a steady pay check and when you're done with work, you are DONE with the day. I am always on my toes of getting a call. We can't even really go out to lunch in fear that we will get an install. By the end of the summer I'll probably be so fed up that I'll just turn off my phone. Who knows. But here's a picture of a church that we saw out here. Oh the south...

May 9th

GREEAATTT NEWWSS!!! Lily gets to stay with us!

I told my boss that we were staying in this hotel until we had to send Lily out and he asked if we wanted to just stay there. I was like "you can do that?" and he said he would do what he could. He emailed Vivint and they got us a hotel room here until June 1st!! Also, they are giving us our money back for last night and tonight!!! I couldn't believe that someone was actually taking care of us. It was surreal. We couldn't be happier.
Our motel we are staying in is kind of ghetto, but the room is great. It has this jacuzzi tub in it, and a fridge and microwave.
Today I got 2 installs. I should have made 3 but my last one took 3 hours because I had to set the cameras up. But tomorrow I WILL get 3.

So Far...

Well it's been quite the roller coaster here in Georgia. We got here to a small town called Albany. It's an awesome little place with cool houses everywhere and pretty much everything that you could expect from a small Georgia town. Our hotel is the Marriott - Fairfield Inn and Suites. It's a pretty nice place that has turned into the biggest trial that Jessie and I have gone through this far in our marriage. Last week we got a knock on our door and the manager told us we can't have the cat. I don't want to go into details because that will just make me sad/furious all at the same time. Anyway, after a full day of mostly breaking down and trying to figure out how to deal with this situation we decided we have to fly her home. The Vet wasn't open on Saturday we had to wait until today to get the documents faxed to this vet and now we go get some stupid paper signed and Lily leaves in a jet plane tomorrow morning before I go to work. We have to drive 3 hours to Atlanta GA and back all before 2 o'clock. It'll be a terrible ride. Right now to lower our stress we decided to just check into a pet friendly hotel for last night and tonight. What's funny is I like this crap hole better than the Marriott.

Other then that I'm getting the hang of installing. I have done 7 houses by my self now and it typically takes me about 2 hours for a job. If I can get that time down to about 90 minutes I should be able to pretty easily average 3 a day. That's my goal every day is 3. I got 3 on Saturday but I think that I could have done 4. I think that I talk to much to the customer and that could extend my time 20-30 minutes which is where I lack. So I am going to take the example of some of my not-so-social tech friends and pretend like I'm lacking in the social interaction department. That should help.

I'll try to update this more so you (Morgan, you are probably the only one reading this) can hear more about our (familiar sounding) summer.
