Quick Update

It's been forever since we've updated this.. so here's a quick recap of what's been happening with us. Christmas was WONDERFUL. This year we celebrated with my family, so we just stuck around Utah and had some fun family time. Our most exciting present was a little HD video camera that we got from my parents which is AMAZING. We can't wait to use it with our little baby! Sadly, Christmas break has come to an end, which means back to school on Monday. Dangit. Thankfully, I only have one more semester until I graduate and Sean only has 2 more after that.
Sean is still working as an assistant for Summit Realty and absolutely loves his job. He works harder than anyone I know and I guess his bosses feel the same because they surprised him with an amazing raise for the new year! The timing couldn't be more perfect and we are truly blessed.
I'm still throwing up about 50 times a day (even though it was SUPPOSED to stop sometime between weeks 12 and 14.. not that I'm bitter) but as long as our baby is healthy then that's all that really matters. We are just over 16 weeks along and we have another dr. appointment this afternoon where we get to hear the heartbeat again! Then only one more month until we find out if it's a boy or a girl, which seems SO far away. Four weeks from today and counting!
And last but not least, Sean and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this week! Sean surprised me by making reservations at a cute little resort up in Midway along with a couples massage. We were basically the only people at the hotel which was SO fun and the massage was one of the greatest things in the world. It was a first for both of us and it is definitely going to become an annual tradition.

Updates

Alright, it's been FOREVER since Sean or I have updated our blog. For two main reasons.. 1.) We are actually enjoying life now that we're back in Utah and have better things to do. 2.) Let's face it, MAYBE 3 people read this, so sometimes it's just not worth it. But regardless, here's a quick update.
Sean and I are living in an adorable old house in Springville and couldn't be happier about location. As time goes on, we find ourselves hating the Provo/Orem area more and more. Too many people, too much traffic, more construction than I knew was possible, etc. We're about 3 minutes from the freeway which makes it convenient for school and work but a nice distance from the hustle for room to breathe. Other than that, our lives are pretty typical. Sean is working for Summit Realty (the same place he worked last spring) and absolutely loves his job, as well as going to school. I am doing just school this semester and squished all my remaining classes into two semesters so that I can graduate in April. Lots of work, but worth it to cut out an entire semester and graduate in April instead of the next December.
Aside from school and work I've been getting a bit craft lately and started a new blog to keep track of my endeavors and to follow other crafty, design, and cooking blogs. It's great. I've probably only made about 3 posts so far but I have several in the works that are "coming soon". You should also know that Sean named it and is quite proud of himself since I spent about a week debating on what to call the stupid thing. It's jessiesjoys.blogspot.com Anyway, I think that's enough for now so I'll just post a few recent pictures and be on my way.

ALMOST THERE!

So I have been lacking on this blog thing. Anyway, we have 5 more days until we are done done done!! Work has been really tough the last weekend. I have had some absolutely terrible horrible customers. But you know what, in a few more days we are done and it will all be a memory that we have learned from.

We got our apartment key, and we are so stoked to get into the new place!!

Two more weeks

Well the main story of the last two days is that we got ourselves an apartment. It's in Springville! It's on 300 South if you want to see where it is. It's a nice one bedroom apartment that was recently remodeled. It's actually an older house converted into 3 apartments.. kind of interesting. We are sooo happy that it's not a basement and that we will have lots of natural light. It's a little small, but we aren't paying as much and it's in a location that we wanted. We wanted to be out of the Provo/Orem hussle and this is a perfect fit for us, especially since it's only 3 minutes from the freeway so we can still get to school pretty fast.

This week my goal is to try to be as positive as I can. It's going to be hard but I'll do my best. We'll probably sleep in as much as we can to make the days go faster and get things all squared away for when we move. We are just so excited to go home and these next two weeks can't go fast enough!

Mornings

We are going to Florida on Sunday! Jessie and I decided that we needed to have something in the near future to look forward to, so we're heading down to Florida for a day. It is a 3 hour drive so it's not even that bad. We'll wake up at around 9, maybe go get some breakfast, and then drive down to Destin FL. It's at the western edge of the panhandle. Not many waves but the white sandy beaches go on for miles. We will try to get some pictures together and post them on facebook and on this blog.

Today has been okay. It's 5:23 right now and I am waiting for my first job. It's pretty common for me to get my first job around 5:30 to 6:00 these days. I don't mind, more time to spend with my Jessie.

I got to talk to Nephi for a bit before work and that was awesome as usual. I miss sitting around talking to him. We have the same views on everything and we can just make fun of anything together. I think we could have a podcast where we just talk about anything and everything and it would be hilarious.

Hump Day

Today was not that great of a day. I pushed through it though. For me I suppose it's not hump day. But Wednesday seems half way through.
Well I got 2 installs today. Also tonight I went over and fixed this guys job. The owner was a complete jerk. One thing that I think is a pretty common theme here is that people think that they are entitled to everything. It's so annoying. But I fixed the guys problems and after all the sudden he thought I was the greatest thing ever.
Tomorrow rumor has it that we will be in Auburn. Yes, like the school. I will take a picture by the stadium.
We're having a hard time finding an apartment. We have our cat Lily so she makes it hard. We will probably have to end up in Provo :( Not the best but it's okay. As long as we have a bedroom and sunlight we will like it. We've been in hotel rooms and extended stays all summer so anything will feel amazing.

19...

Today was okay. I got a job, it cancelled; got another job, it cancelled. Finally got one. The rep is this guy who talks so quiet I want to rip his face off. It's all a show cause I know he can't talk that quiet in his normal world. I honestly can't stand him just for that. The job went relatively well. Then I got another job for my favorite rep. His jobs are always huge though. It was a takeover full package which means it takes me about 3 hours. The lady's name at my second job was Ebony White... figure that out.

Today at my first job the family was a mom and dad and 3 really small kids. The kids were kind of crazy and the parents looked just exhausted. They looked terrible. I was thinking the whole time how could I not be like that when I have kids that are 3-5 year olds. I just pray I don't have all those kids that are all crazy. The kids were running around in their underwear and screaming and the parents were at the table just staring down looking like they could go to bed. Maybe they were like that because they know they just made the biggest impulse buy of their life.

3 week mark...

I have 3 weeks left. It feels so short and so long at the same time. So I am going to blog as much as I can because it's going to be a tough 3 weeks and this may make it easier.

Today we got up without knowing anything. We didn't even know IF we were moving until 11am. My boss didn't really tell us anything at all. Nothing new there he never tells us crap. We got word to go to Montgomery so we packed up and headed out. It's about an hour and a half drive. We got to the La Quinta Inn at around 4. We were in room 230 to start, and after we got into that room we got a call on the hotel phone to move to 205. All the better because this room has a king size bed instead of 2 small beds.

I didn't get a job until 7:30. The job was fine. It went pretty well and the guy was cool. Sometimes at the end of the day I feel pretty good. Tonight was one of those nights. I think it's because I am so happy to go home.

I will be updating this a TON these last weeks because it could be pretty therapeutic for me. Sometimes just getting my thoughts down make me feel good.

Happy Father's Day!

We have been truly blessed to have amazing dads in our lives. They have both been such great examples to us and we hope we can raise our own family as well as they raised us. Thank you for your love and guidance. We love you!

Sundays

Sundays are what we live for. Sean worked about 70 hours last week and didn't get home until between 11:30pm-1:00am every night. NOT fun. So on Sundays we try to just relax and enjoy each other's company. This is what we did this week..

Watched movies
Ate outside in the perfect weather
Took in the sites
Had fun :)
P.S. We are SO sick of eating out 2 meals a day. THANKFULLY we just moved to a new hotel yesterday that has a kitchen. I never thought I'd be so excited to cook for myself :)

Sweet temporary home Alabama

Okay so now our adventure has brought us to Alabama. We have had the hardest time even getting here. Not because of the roads or the drive, but because we didn't know where we were going. We are continually floored by the lack of communication from our company to us. For some reason we are completely left out of any loop. We were supposed to leave sunday morning but didn't know when we could fill the Uhaul with my equipment. Then the hotel was trying to kick us out at noon and we didn't know what to do. Finally we got out of there and got to Birmingham in a hotel. I guess we're getting apartments in a week or so but honestly who knows. Today we are installing an hour away because of more licensing issues. Nothing on the sales end seems organized and I feel like we are just knocking wherever the wind blows us. Us technicians, even my boss, are trying to just stay with is because we don't know what is ever going on. I guess we'll just see how things play out but so far it's been a complete confusing mess.

It's almost June

So today is the last day of May. That means that we only have June, July, and August left for the summer. Not that I'm counting down or anything, I have just been super stressed. It hasn't been turning out like I thought. I mean, I knew it would suck at times because I have done this summer thing before, but what I didn't realize is that as a tech you have to be on call basically 24 hours a day 6 days a week. We can't really go anywhere because you have to pick up equipment at noon, and then you could get called to a job or a service any time during the 24 hours of the day. I completely wish that I could go back and tech for my brother doing pest control. At least they get a steady pay check and when you're done with work, you are DONE with the day. I am always on my toes of getting a call. We can't even really go out to lunch in fear that we will get an install. By the end of the summer I'll probably be so fed up that I'll just turn off my phone. Who knows. But here's a picture of a church that we saw out here. Oh the south...

May 9th

GREEAATTT NEWWSS!!! Lily gets to stay with us!

I told my boss that we were staying in this hotel until we had to send Lily out and he asked if we wanted to just stay there. I was like "you can do that?" and he said he would do what he could. He emailed Vivint and they got us a hotel room here until June 1st!! Also, they are giving us our money back for last night and tonight!!! I couldn't believe that someone was actually taking care of us. It was surreal. We couldn't be happier.
Our motel we are staying in is kind of ghetto, but the room is great. It has this jacuzzi tub in it, and a fridge and microwave.
Today I got 2 installs. I should have made 3 but my last one took 3 hours because I had to set the cameras up. But tomorrow I WILL get 3.

So Far...

Well it's been quite the roller coaster here in Georgia. We got here to a small town called Albany. It's an awesome little place with cool houses everywhere and pretty much everything that you could expect from a small Georgia town. Our hotel is the Marriott - Fairfield Inn and Suites. It's a pretty nice place that has turned into the biggest trial that Jessie and I have gone through this far in our marriage. Last week we got a knock on our door and the manager told us we can't have the cat. I don't want to go into details because that will just make me sad/furious all at the same time. Anyway, after a full day of mostly breaking down and trying to figure out how to deal with this situation we decided we have to fly her home. The Vet wasn't open on Saturday we had to wait until today to get the documents faxed to this vet and now we go get some stupid paper signed and Lily leaves in a jet plane tomorrow morning before I go to work. We have to drive 3 hours to Atlanta GA and back all before 2 o'clock. It'll be a terrible ride. Right now to lower our stress we decided to just check into a pet friendly hotel for last night and tonight. What's funny is I like this crap hole better than the Marriott.

Other then that I'm getting the hang of installing. I have done 7 houses by my self now and it typically takes me about 2 hours for a job. If I can get that time down to about 90 minutes I should be able to pretty easily average 3 a day. That's my goal every day is 3. I got 3 on Saturday but I think that I could have done 4. I think that I talk to much to the customer and that could extend my time 20-30 minutes which is where I lack. So I am going to take the example of some of my not-so-social tech friends and pretend like I'm lacking in the social interaction department. That should help.

I'll try to update this more so you (Morgan, you are probably the only one reading this) can hear more about our (familiar sounding) summer.

Today's fun

So today Jessie and I are going to go on a day date. I'm not sure what we are doing because it really all depends on the weather. Maybe we'll go to a movie in the afternoon and then go to lunch? Or go up to the Gateway mall and walk around and then go have a picnic in the park up in bountiful that we love so much. Well see how the weather turns out.
BUT one thing I do know is that Jessie is going to look so amazing in the thing I just bought her. It's sitting under my bed right now and she has no clue I got it for her.. till now.

I have an announcement to make. Today is my LAST DAY AT PINNACLE SECURITY!!! I never thought this day would come. I have the sweetest husband in the world that convinced me to quit a few weeks early and I am SO HAPPY! I just had to let everyone know :)

Weekend Fun

This was one of our weekend activities. It. Was. Freezing. Well, Sean said I was weak, but I'm pretty sure he's never been cold in his entire life. We're going to try again when it warms up a bit :)

Love Love Love

What a sweet husband I have. This is what I come home to when I have a bad day..

New Job

I started my new job today. It was pretty much what I thought it would be. One of my daily job responsibilities is to track down addresses and phone numbers for people that have there houses expire, meaning not selling. I was only at work for a few hours but I still was exhausted after all is said and done. That's all for today.

The Love Cave

This is what I did for Jessie on Valentines day! I made the love cave. I got her some flowers and an necklace and I rented the movie "Somewhere in time" which is a Christopher Reeves movie from I think 1979. It turned out really good!

Things are going good on the home front. I just had a meeting with the two guys I'm going to work for that was supposed to be my "accounting" job, but what it really is is an office job where I pretty much just set the office up with data bases and sync them up with Google calender and Google doc's. It will be fine though because I just need to get my foot in the door with people who work with money. I am just going to buy quick books myself and learn how to use it. I need some sort of leverage so that people will pay me more. With no experience or much education I am only worth what people offer me. I can't wait to have a bachelors degree in Accounting. That should give me something of a head start.
This morning I stumbled to the table at my usual 6:20am and pored some cereal into my bowl, then got the milk out and pored out what turned out to be complete chunky mush. The fridge went out. I haven't gagged so much my whole life. We are waiting to clean the apartment tonight before we call the landlord. Lily was a bit of a surprise to them and we want to make sure we make a good impression on our landlord if he comes down so we now have anything perishable in the big cooler we got for our wedding. Our freezer works great so we just keep re-freezing ice and putting it in there. Ah to have a refrigerator of our own someday..

Monday, February 7, 2011

Lily can't go one second without us touching her or paying attention to her. When we were getting ready for our date I was putting on this tie.. Well Lily wanted in on it so she flung herself on my back and held on to me. I called over to Jessie and she got this picture on her phone!

I needed a shirt for work and since we don't have a washer I was hand washing it in the tub. Lily is like curious George.. she was perched up on the tub the whole time I was washing those clothes. Jessie thought it was funny so she took a picture of it again :)

Jessie and I are still doing great! We have some big tests this week so we have completely devoted our time to that. We get an occasional nap in here and there but it's mostly work, school, work, school. I'm taking a break from studying for my accounting test on Friday. That's no fun.
Wish us luck!

Shootin Guns

Today we had a great day! We first went to the ceramics lab because I wanted to show Jessie how to do some ceramics. She's a natural, I guess it's just a Frazer thing cause I'm pretty dang good at it also if I must say so myself. Then we went shooting. :) Jessie did awesome! She hit a milk carton from a pretty good distance away. It was a really fun newly wed date!! Great times!!

Doing Nothing

This week has been a good one up until friday. Jessie got WAY sick on friday. She slept for at least 5 hours, poor thing. Also I'm getting over some stupid cold yet again. But we're doing better now.
I think that my favorite weekend activity is doing nothing. Doing nothing is so underrated sometimes. Being able to wake up at 11 and sit all day watching TV shows on netflix is my favorite thing in the world. We also love learning new recepies and cooking stuff. I've messed up some stuff pretty bad, but all in all we've made some good dinners! I think for the next few months we'll do nothing and we will love every second of it!

More Lily

We don't want to be the "cat" people, but Lily is only cute for so long and we want to share her with the world!

Friday, January 28, 2011

Just an ordinary day for our Lily. She loves to sit on you while you are doing ANYTHING. Typical cat, and that's why we love her :)

Friday, January 21, 2011

Well we are finally MARRIED! Thank goodness! With Christmas and the open house in Minnesota, the wedding and the reception, the honeymoon, the new apartment... there's a lot to catch up on. Instead of writing a novel, just enjoy a few pictures and from now on we'll try to keep up on our adventures.
